A wealthy, funny, carefree playboy, who I desperately wanted to peel the layers from and get to know the real guy behind the persona, and that’s exactly what he did here. If you try your hardest that’s all you can do. It shows how you don't have to be powerful, popular, and bossy to get what you want. Also when Claire gets the part in the movie and not Massie it tells teens something. ![]() She definitely gives enough detail to give you a perspective of what people look like to even their attitudes. Lisi Harrison does a great job on relating to teens. Also the author makes you really feel the emotions of the characters in many situations, and makes you care about them. Also I do love how she uses things in everyday life to relate to decisions the characters make. The only thing is that she makes Massie pretty misunderstanding toward the other characters, but like every book there always has to be that someone who ruins the perfect life. ![]() It shows how there pretty much is a Massie in every school. I think it deals with everyday problems with middle school girls. It never lost my interest and I always was wondering what was going to happen next. ![]() ![]() From here, the ending from book and movie are very different. In the end, Don Vic at the scene of the crime and see Vic acting dubious. She starts to act like she’s over it and no longer talks with the Don, the only other person who suspects Vic. Melinda again suspects him, but Vic continues to deny it. ![]() ![]() Melinda then finds a new man, and once again, Vic is alone with him and kills him. Melinda publicly accuses Vic, but as with her affairs, he seems to silently put up with it. Melinda believes Vic did it, but Vic is respected be the community so much, that no one else suspects him (aside from this one guy, Don, who is a newcomer in town). One night, she brings her latest boy toy-Charlie-to a pool party and when Vic and Charlie are alone in the pool, Vic drowns him. She flaunted them about and Vic silently pretended he was fine with all of it. She then started having one affair after the other, usually with men who were passing through town. A couple years after their daughter’s birth, Melinda told Vic that she was no longer romantically or intimately in love with him. Vic and Melinda have been married for over ten years and have one daughter, Trixie. We encountered a couple of ‘characters’ on the streets of Cartagena (as you would in any major city in the world), but they were harmless. Nowhere on earth is completely safe to travel, but we felt quite safe during our visit to Colombia. In 2017, four million foreign tourists visited Colombia – an increase of over 650% since 2007!
